7/31/2023 0 Comments Put your records on lyrics chordsYou can resize the chords and the lyrics separately by pinch-zooming on the two separate areas of the screen. This field will then appear above the lyrics field when you view your lyrics, with the lyrics scrolling beneath it. Instead of placing chord names within the lyrics in the Lyrics field, you can enter just the chord progression into the Chords field. You can remove these square brackets with the ChordPro tools button (), then add bold, italic or color to these labels instead. If your lyrics include square brackets around other text besides chord names, like "Verse" and "Chorus" labels, these square brackets will interfere with the chord coloring and transposing functions. Also, you can't use a mixture of bracketed and unbracketed chords - if any chords are bracketed, BandHelper will ignore any chords that are not bracketed. If your lyrics include chord names that aren't surrounded by square brackets, you can still use the chord color and transpose functions, but there are some cases where they won't work consistently. The advantages of this setup are that the chord positions will automatically update if you edit your lyrics, you can use the Toggle Chords option to hide and show the chords when viewing the song, and the chord coloring and transposing functions will work more reliably. This will place your chords into your lyrics and surround them with square brackets. If your lyrics include chord names that are manually placed above the lyrics, as in the preceding picture, you can convert these to ChordPro formatting with the ChordPro tools button ().Your lyrics should only contain square brackets if you intend to use these functions. You can even hide all the bracketed text from the set list view by clicking the document tools button and selecting Hide Bracketed Chords. (The Above option requires using one of the monospace fonts at Settings > Appearance > Lyrics Font.) You can also place instructions like "pause" or "harmony" in square brackets. It will also place them above the corresponding words, or inline, according to Settings > Appearance > Bracketed Chords. Then BandHelper will automatically color them according to Settings > Appearance > Chords Color. If you want to include chords within your lyrics, you can surround them with ChordPro-style square brackets. You can also use the undo and redo buttons in this toolbar if needed. On larger devices that have enough room for it, you can also use a Clear Formatting button (X icon) to remove formatting from the selected text. After entering lyrics, you can apply basic formatting-bold, italic, underline and color-using the formatting toolbar at the top of the Lyrics field. When typing in the Lyrics field, a toolbar will appear above the keyboard with buttons to sharp and flat symbols and other useful chord symbols. You can type directly into the field, or copy and paste lyrics from a web page or a document. To add lyrics to BandHelper, tap the edit button for a song, then scroll down to the Lyrics field. You can use this comparison chart to understand the differences. Note: Adding lyrics is similar to attaching documents, but not the same. Some of this info is covered in a tutorial video. Then a document button will appear in song lists, which youĬan tap to view the lyrics and chords. You can type or copy and paste lyrics and chords into your song records.

If you don’t have arrowroot on hand, feel free to use another thickener, like tapioca starch. To make the filling for this recipe sugar-free, you can use monk fruit sweetener instead of date sugar, and maple flavored sugar-free syrup instead of maple syrup. If you do decide to use another milk, though, try to use one that is high in fat for the best texture! You can substitute another plant milk if you’d like, but the filling won’t quite be as rich and custardy. If you don’t like the taste of coconut, don’t worry–once mixed with the other ingredients you can’t even taste the coconut. It’s the secret to making this pie extra creamy! It is entirely up to you.Īfter testing several plant milks, I found that the best one for this vegan pumpkin pie recipe, in terms of texture, is canned full-fat coconut milk. You can make this vegan pumpkin pie recipe with pumpkin puree from a can (like I did) or you can roast and puree your own pumpkin. Homemade pumpkin pie spice blend (keep reading for the spice list).Maple syrup (keep reading for sugar-free alternative).Date sugar (keep reading for sugar-free alternative). Pumpkin pie filling is incredibly easy to make. All you have to do is blend the ingredients until creamy, pour the mixture into your pie crust, bake it, and enjoy!Īs for the ingredients, here’s what I used: The recipe is not only vegan, it’s also accidentally gluten-free, and can be made sugar-free (see options below). Serves 10.This Vegan Pumpkin Pie recipe is a must-make for the holiday season. The sweet, spiced pumpkin filling inside a crisp, flakey pie crust served with a dollop of vegan whipped cream… I can hear the “mmmmmmm’s” around the dinner table already! Cut into slices and serve each with a dollop of whipped cream on top. To serve, decorate the top of the pie with the decorative cutouts as desired. Transfer the baking sheet to the wire rack and let cool. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. While the pie cools, bake the decorative cutouts: Brush the cutouts lightly with some of the remaining beaten egg. Transfer the pie dish to the wire rack and let the pie cool completely, about 4 hours, before serving. Bake until the filling is set, about 1 hour and 15 minutes, covering the edges of the crust with foil if they get too brown. Place the pie dish on the preheated baking sheet. Pour the filling into the cooled piecrust. Add the cream, milk, vanilla and brandy and whisk until smooth. Add the remaining 3 eggs and egg yolks and whisk until combined. Add the flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves and whisk until smooth. Meanwhile, make the filling: In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, brown sugar and granulated sugar. (Leave the baking sheet in the oven.) Reduce the oven temperature to 375☏ (190☌). Transfer the piecrust to a wire rack and let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Remove the parchment and weights and bake until the crust is light golden brown, about 5 minutes more. Place the pie dish on the preheated baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Line the piecrust with parchment paper or aluminum foil and fill with pie weights. Place a baking sheet on the rack and preheat the oven to 400☏ (200☌). Meanwhile, position a rack in the lower third of an oven. (Save the remaining egg wash.) Place the remaining cutouts on a baking sheet and refrigerate until ready to bake. Brush the edges of the piecrust with the beaten egg, then arrange some of the cutouts on the edges, pressing them gently so they adhere. Using decorative piecrust cutters or a sharp paring knife, cut out leaves or desired shapes from the remaining dough round. Using a fork, gently prick holes in several places on the bottom of the crust. Fold under the excess dough and, using your thumb, decoratively flute the edges. Trim the edges, leaving a 1/2-inch (12-mm) overhang. Transfer 1 of the dough rounds to a 9-inch (23-cm) deep-dish pie dish. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Best stasis fragmentsThe aspects and fragments that are usually chosen in PvE also work well inside the crucible. While it may be weaker than the other subclasses in terms of killing potential, the utility of Stasis can sometimes be a good choice. The strengths of the Stasis Titan are similar in PvE and PvP: Area denial and control. Titan is actually in a pretty good spot when it comes to the strength of its subclasses in PvP. It also grants you a faster barricade, wich is always helpful. Whilst Resilience doesn’t give a damage reduction like in PvE, the increased health can allow you to survive certain weapons and combos. Recovery dictates the speed at which you can engage in fights and can be the difference between a loss and a win.ĭue to the current sandbox that focuses on abilities, your next port of call should be to increase your Discipline, Strength, and Resilience as high as possible. You should always aim to get 100 Recovery or as close as possible. Recovery replaces Resilience as the most important stat. One thing that does carry over between the game modes is the importance of certain stats. Those slots are then freed up for more PvP-orientated mods such as Targeting or Unflinching mods. Unlike PvE, most gameplay mods such as Elemental Wells and Warmind Cells are disabled in PvP. PvP is a different ball game when it comes to gearing up and taking your Titan to the max level. A quick and easy way to shatter lots of crystals is to use a wave frame grenade launcher. The shards created can then also be used with the Elemental Shard mod to act as an easy source for an Elemental well build. Shattering a crystal will provide you with enhanced ability regeneration and a small portion of an overshield. Standing next to these crystals will provide more damage resistance. The gameplay loop is simple: Use both the Hoarfrost-Z and the glacier grenade to create a mass of stasis crystals. This means it can be used to create another source of stasis crystals. This special wall can be shattered like a normal stasis crystal. The Hoarfrost-Z exotic perk, “Glacial Fortification,” takes the normal Titan barricade and replaces it with a wall of stasis crystal. This build can fill entire areas with stasis crystals and use them to deal high shatter damage to close-by enemies. This build can also incorporate an Orbs of Power build by using Heavy Handed or Firepower mod to create Orbs of Power. Grenade Kickstart and Utility Kickstart/Bomber are some examples. Mods: Mods that reduce the cooldown for abilities are best suited for this build.Stats: High or Max Resilience (increased damage reduction and faster barricade cooldown) and Discipline are the two most important stats for this build.Glacier grenades are great as they provide an additional source of stasis crystals. Abilities: Rally barricade is the best choice due to its shorter cooldown and the fact that Hoarfrost-Z changes the barricade itself.Fragments: Whisper of Shards and Whisper of Conduction are the two key fragments needed for this build. For the second aspect, Howl of the Storm provides an extra source of stasis crystals, which this build revolves around.
7/31/2023 0 Comments Van halen bumblebeeBumblebee remains a longtime favorite for Van Halen listeners everywhere. "Bumblebee," as it would come to be known by fans, debuted on the cover of the 1979 album Van Halen II and was heavily played by Eddie throughout the 1979 world tour.Īlthough Eddie continued to wrestle with the overall capabilities of the guitar, the black-with-yellow-stripes theme became insanely popular. After all these modifications, only the original body, striped paint job, screw-eye strap hooks and Schaller® tuners remained from the first version of the guitar. He also swapped out the chrome volume knob with a Strat-style skirted "Tone" knob. He instead outfitted the instrument with a prototype two-point Floyd Rose® bridge and locking nut with retainer bar, becoming the first professional rock guitarist to use a locking-nut tremolo system. He rewound the pickup by hand, dipped it in paraffin wax and put copper tape around the windings.Įddie also stripped out the original Charvel bridge, leaving its six screw holes behind. After selecting a DiMarzio® Super Distortion humbucking pickup, he swapped out its ceramic magnet for an alnico 2 magnet from a Gibson® PAF. He installed a new Boogie Bodies maple neck with a natural headstock, unfinished back (which he has always preferred) and 12"-radius dot-inlay maple fingerboard. While pleased with the looks of the guitar, Eddie was less impressed with its tone and quickly began tinkering with it, as he was prone to do. Other features on the first-incarnation guitar (as pictured on Van Halen II) were a standard nut, single Mighty Mite® humbucking pickup with transparent bobbins, single chrome volume knob, original Charvel® six-screw brass tremolo bridge, and Schaller® tuning keys. He tasked Wayne Charvel to make the original guitar, which had a maple neck, maple fingerboard and dot inlays. During the process of recording 1979 album Van Halen II, Eddie Van Halen sought something fresh to play other than his original "Frankenstrat," which at the time was being heavily copied by just about every major guitar company in the world.Įddie had the idea to build a new guitar with an ash body and black-and-yellow-stripe paint job, with rear-loaded electronics so there would be no pickguard. This run was handsigned by Eddie van Halen. These days you don’t have to play is a suite of Van Halen signature amps that don’t require anything like that to get that gain. Here is a mint condition all complete ultimate collectable. You can, of course, wreck your amp if you are not careful but this was Van Halen improvising once more, making discoveries as he went. The working theory goes that at lower voltages the amp was quieter and had warmer, more saturated distortion - the same principle is at play with Fuzz pedals, such as the eponymous Variac Fuzz from MXR, where choking the voltages gets a more extreme breakup. He used a variac transformer to lower the output voltages for his amps, an epiphany he had after getting British Marshall that was wired for the U.K.’s standard voltage of 230V. But those old Marshalls often had their own peculiarities when it came to circuitry. Legends have grown about what sort of mods were made, but those who have worked on Van Halen’s Marshalls - such as Dave Suhr - have noted only the most minor changes. In the beginning it was Marshall Super Lead 100-watt heads and lots of them. Now a subsidiary of Fender, producing an expansive lineup of signature Van Halen guitars such as the Wolfgang, amplifiers, and effects co-developed with MXR, EVH Gear is the first place very much a one-stop shop for any player looking for some of that atomic punk mojo. Perhaps it was inevitable that Van Halen’s tone chasing would one day culminate in him steering the development of his own brand, EVH Gear. He had a Kramer doubleneck, too, and signature models with Ernie Ball Music Man and Peavey. Van Halen would use his Kramer signature S-style, which applied a similar red, black and white finish to the Frankenstrat but with the hockey-stick headstock. It makes his Ibanez Destroyer 2459, aka the Shark, look tame. Check out the DragonSnake he was brandishing on the cover of Guitar World back in ’81. A true seeker has got to keep an open mind. Nothing was off-limits a Danelectro neck on a Charvel body? Well, why not? Whatever works. Used throughout the touring for Van Halen II, it was built by Charvel and finished in black with yellow stripes, with a rudimentary locking vibrato for dive-bombs and a DiMarzio humbucker in the bridge. In 1979, Van Halen took receipt of the Bumblebee.

For one thing, it’s its own distro with its own package manager (Pakfire) which can be used directly or behind the scenes to install extra functionality. But its functionality can be extended far beyond what’s in the box. IPFire has everything you need and more to run an advanced firewall solution. (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) IPFire Add-ons Click update and then you should be able to connect to IPFire’s web interface from anywhere on your LAN.įirewall rules look simple with IPFire, and the IPFire interface looks lovely in the Ubuntu 20.04 daily images. In the Additional settings box, you can choose to log, limit, or rate limit these connections, but we won’t trouble ourselves with that, so just click Add. In the Protocol section choose TCPm select Any in the Standard networks drop down and in the Source section enter 444 in the External port box. In the Destination section select the Firewall option and choose GREEN – 10.0.0.1. Check the Use NAT box below and choose Destination NAT. In the Source section, select the Standard networks option and choose RED. Go to Firewall > Firewall Rules and click the New rule button. This is not something you’d want to do in real life, but it serves to show the procedure for adding rules. We’ll set up a simple rule to allow the Red network to access the web interface on the host. Uncheck the Use ISP-assigned DNS box, and click the Add button at the top. This you can do, by heading to Network > Domain Name System. You may wish to use a public service for this, such as CloudFlare’s 1.1.1.1 or Google’s 8.8.8.8. Then you’ll be presented with IPFire’s intuitive web interface.īy default IPFire forwards DNS requests to the DNS server on the Red Interface, which is probably your ISP, via your home router. The next thing you’ll see is a login box, into which you should identify yourself as admin using the password you set up earlier. The first thing you’ll see is a nasty security warning because IPFire uses a self-signed certificate. You should be able to connect to IPFire by browsing to. This should be all you need to complete the initial setup of the IPFire instance. (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) Testing, Configuring DNS on IPFire Once we set up our Ubuntu VM to use a static IP, we were able to connect to our IPFire VM. For a physical machine, you can connect to the Green interface IPFire host either by direct cable connection (older 100mbit cards require a crossover cable, gigabit ethernet cards do not) or via a switch. For desktop distros, this is most easily achieved by setting a static IP configuration in Network Manager. So you’ll have to set up Static IP addresses for the VMs you want IPFire to protect here. If you’re using libvirt or Virtualbox, this won’t work since the virtual NAT device has its own DHCP server which will get in the way. Turn this on and use the following settings (or something like them): Start address: 10.0.0.2 Unless you want to mandate that everyone using your private network must use Static IP, the Green interface will need a DHCP server. If you’re running IPFire virtually, then DHCP will use your hypervisor’s NAT network which should work fine. Static IP will require you to set the gateway to that of your home router. The Red interface (in this set up) can be set to receive a IP address via DHCP which offers the easiest set up, but you’ll probably want to configure a static IP later or you’ll be chasing your IPFire instance after a reboot. The Green interface can technically be anything you want, but it’s sensible to use another designated-private IP address such as 10.0.0.1 or (192.168.1.1 if you prefer). In the configuration described above, where we have a secure network ‘underneath’ our home LAN, the Red interface ought to conform to the rest of the LAN with a likely IP address of form 192.168.0.x. IP addresses must be set up for the network devices under IPFire’s control. The idea is that traffic can flow from Green to Red, but not in the other direction. In practice (if you’re not using IPFire on a machine which connects directly to your ISP) these will both connect via your home router ultimately, but your Green network interface will connect (either via crossover cable, wireless or another router switch) to the machines you want IPFire to protect. Typically the Green network will be your private network and the Red network refers to the one connected to the Internet. Use the first option if you need to set up more adapters, and use the second option to assign colors to network hardware. You can use up to four adapters with IPFire, and things get even more colorful if you do that. Setting up Red and Green Networks on IPFireįor a two-adapter setup, we must assign one device the Green network and the other device the Red network. Enter the Settings menu, choose 'Personalization' click 'Colors' and scroll down to the switch marked 'Choose your default app mode'.Ģ. View Deal Changing Chrome to dark mode for Windows 11ġ. Although it's hard to say how much battery savings are up for grabs, it's estimated that you can conserve anywhere between 15% and 60% of screen energy depending on the level of screen brightness you choose while in dark mode - which is pretty impressive! While more research is needed, studies are showing that using dark mode may improve your sleep and cause less disruption to your circadian rhythm than blue light does.īut while Google Chrome dark mode can be set up on some PC operating systems, it's mobile users who will get the most benefits, with switching to dark mode resulting in less energy usage and therefore, longer battery life. Whether you're using one of the best windows laptops or you're more a fan of the best MacBook and Macs, you'll find Google Chrome dark mode super beneficial when you're browsing first thing in the morning or late at night. Fast forward to 2022 and it doesn't matter whether you want to use Instagram in dark mode to scroll through all those jaw-droopingly beautiful images or use YouTube dark mode to watch those must-see videos, it's widely available across all your favorite platforms. While the light reduces, making for a more comfortable reading experience at night, the minimum color contrasts required for readability are still maintained, so you'll get exactly the same experience you would in the day, just with far fewer risks to your eye health.īursting onto the scene in 2016, dark mode first appeared as part of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but Apple were quick to jump on the bandwagon with their own launch in 2018 and Google Chrome dark mode dropped in 2021.
